Fall 2009 Recognition Event
On
December 3, 2009 Big Apple Greeter honored Christine Quinn, Speaker of
the New York City Council; Daniel A. Biederman, President, 34th Street
Partnership and Bryant Park Corporation; and Dominic Chianese, Actor
& Singer. Benefit Chair Peter Meyer, President, NYC Market,
TD Bank and Honorary Benefit Chair Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn Borough
President helped us welcome over 130 guests at the Russian Tea Room.
Volunteer Boat Trip
On
July 28, 2009 a group of 100 greeters and staff went aboard the Clipper
City for a boat ride around the New York Harbor. Thanks to a
generous donation from Manhattan By Sail, we were able to enjoy a
lovely summer evening on the water. While taking in the sights of
the Statue of Liberty and Governor’s Island, as well as Brooklyn and
lower Manhattan, greeters had a wonderful time sharing past experiences
and best tips.
